States of Becoming

My painting practice is rooted in transitions – moments when something leaves its previous form but has not yet become something new. I am interested in what is in motion rather than what is complete, in states where opposites can coexist and where meanings shift over time.

Each painting is an exploration of the relationships between colour, form and structure. Through layers that are built up, broken down and renegotiated, I do not seek harmony, but rather a temporary state of balance in which movement remains possible.

States of Becoming is an ongoing body of work in which each painting forms part of the same exploration. The works are not intended as individual narratives, but as different expressions of a shared process – an invitation to pause, look slowly, and discover how meanings shift over time.

About the Artist

Beatrice Jansson is a Swedish artist based outside Stockholm.

She works primarily with abstract acrylic painting, using colour, structure and spatial relationships to explore change, perception and movement. Her work has been presented in juried and curated exhibitions in Sweden and internationally.

Through States of Becoming, she is developing a cohesive body of work in which each painting forms part of a broader exploration of change and human experience.
